Local Governing Committee
The Hermitage Schools have a joint Local Governing Committee.
The Local Governing Committee (LGC) is committed to ensuring that each child within The Hermitage Schools receives the best possible education. Our mission statement is ‘Inspire, Learn, Achieve’, and as a LGC, our aim is to strategically support the schools' leadership team to motivate and inspire children, build and develop their individual strengths and talents, enable them to realise and achieve their potential and to ensure every child is valued and achievements are celebrated.
As an LGC, we are here to: work alongside the Executive Headteacher and the staff, share the vision and values for The Hermitage Schools, ensure that we support and challenge appropriately, whilst always maintaining good working relationships. The LGC makes a difference to the quality of education for the children. We achieve this through working in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team to:
-
Set the strategic direction for the schools
-
Ensure the schools have and are following agreed policy, including meeting statutory requirements
-
Effectively monitor the work of the schools in order to ensure that actions are having a positive and measurable impact and to inform future direction
